04. what sustains maria
In her free time, Maria is an avid outdoor rock climber, musician, and baker. She loves the thrill of topping out a multi-pitch climb and the joy of pulling a homemade pie out of the oven.
05. favorite tree
Bur oak trees are native to Maria's home state of Missouri. On bike rides and bird walks throughout her youth, Maria would see these tall, old beings (some 350-400 years old) and be reminded of important lessons: create wide roots, hold strong, and reach high.
