01. introduction

Lauren Lashmet is an instructional designer and educator. Lauren is driven by her passions for education, music, film, sustainability, psychology, and design. After teaching special education for six years, Lauren founded Diverse Learning Hub, a platform with interactive resources designed specifically for kids with autism and special needs. The company was founded on human centered design principles including empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing. Through iterative innovation, the site offers students interactive and engaging resources such as social stories, math, cooking, and life skills videos that would not otherwise be available in a school setting.

02. experience

Lauren is at Harvard University pursuing a degree in Learning Design, Innovation, & Technology. Her attentive eye for visual design and ability to design for accessibility brought her to work as the UX Design Director for Sustain Tomorrow.

04. what sustains lauren

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys recording music, exploring the outdoors, and making short films.

05. favorite tree

Redwood trees are Lauren’s favorite tree. Living in Santa Cruz, CA, Lauren frequently bikes through these gentle giants and is in awe of their tall and calming presence.
